Thank you Tony Stewart!

Of course, Tony didn't do it on purpose, but his push helped my boy Jeff Gordon get passed Johnson and take the win.
Oddly enough, Stewart was on the fast track to a win when Gordon cut him off, then Stewart ended in 8th. LOL.
What a great race for Gordon...he was 40th at one point!

Re: Thank you Tony Stewart!

I thought mine eyes was deceiving me when I saw Stewart pushing Gordon at the end.

I wonder how Jimmie Johnson feels about Gordon passing him. No such thing as teammates come the Chase I suppose

Anyway, it's all good. I'll take a Gordon sweep the rest of the Chase if it means the Skins will win like this every Sunday, any day.

Me too!

Supposedly Gordon and Johnson talked about this exact thing. Saying we're teammates when out there, but when it comes down to the end, it's every man for himself. They weren't teammates for the last 2 laps.

I kinda feel bad for Stewart...here he is making a great run to the top and Gordon cuts him off, gets a GOOD push and then Gordon leaves the line and gets in front of Johnson exposing Stewart and he has to go to the back of hte pack. That's racin I guess. This is the closest you'll ever see me giving props to stewart. LOL.

Nice...well expect to see you around more in the NASCAR discussions. We are far outnumbered with all the Joe Gibbs Racing fans here.

Yeah I can see that, I will say if Gordon goes out or is not running well...I'll pull for Denny Hamlin or Jr, just cause they're die-hard Redskins fans! My roommate said Jr was getting Redskins updates during the race today while he was driving...now that's something I can relate to!

I'm a "Little E" fan, but my youngest son is a huge Gordon fan. I explained to him last night while watching the race that Gordon and Jr. will be teammates next year. He looked at me and said with a smile "Dad, I guess I'll pull for Dale too next season!" Can't wait. I'm sure Hendrick engines will be much more reliable!

You have a smart little kid there!

I'll definitely pull for dale more now that I know he's a skins fan, and now that he's with Hendrick.

Those engines for DEI suck...how many blow outs do they need before they change their ways?

Re: Thank you Tony Stewart!

I am kind of mixed about restrictor plate racing. For the most part it is not real racing. Kind of exciting to watch at the end but racing is not sitting back most of the race and then racing the last 50 miles or so. That is why i enjoy sprint car racing so much more. There is no waiting till the end of the race when you go to one of them. Nascar is just a big show for the most part.

I loved watching nascar when i was younger,I enjoy it now too but not as much, i lost interest when the cars started all looking the same, you cant tell a ford from a chevy from a dodge,I liked it a helll of a lot better when the cars looked like the ones you drove on the street

I can understand that, it's all about the sponsors now.

I don't like that they all look alike too. You can tell the difference up front, and tail lights, but not the side.

I too enjoyed NASCAR more in the past. I continue to watch with interest, but it just isn't the same for me personally. NASCAR has forgotten it's heritage and has become generic. Drivers, crewman, owners, etc., are no longer allowed to express their emotions for fear of offending someone. Corporate dollars now rule, not Chevy, Ford, or Chrysler. As you stated, the cars all look alike and they are all pretty much the same mechanically. It reminds me of IROC for crying out loud! No longer is it up to a mfr. to ""one up" the other with a faster car. NASCAR now mandates vehicle design and specifications. But alas, I still watch. I typically fast forward the DVR through most races now until a race actually "breaks out," but I still watch.
