Re: Redskins at Bears Post Game Thoughts

Kirk Cousins will be battling for the QB starting position( by the media) by the end of this week.

Briscoe and Robinson looked good along with Cousins. Hard to say anybody on the 1st team offense or defense was good. Kudos to Banks for being the lone bright spot tonight.

I'm glad we didn't get blown out, I was worried there for awhile.

RGIII shows that he's still a rookie. But he can only get better. I don't expect a Cam Newton-esque regular season from him but I still think it'll be good.

Sans leash.

I personally do expect him to have a similar season. I get the feeling that right now they're holding A LOT back. When the regular season starts we probably won't recognize a lot of the offense.

Of course we'll probably start hearing about Cousins in the near future.

I sure hope so. It'd be nice to see RGIII live up to all of the hype. In fact, I hope he has a better season than Cam did, but damn that'd be hard.

And people who think Cousins > RGIII needs to stop sniffing glue. Cousins will probably be starting material in a few years, but it won't be here.

Aldrick Robinson and Kirk Cousins making serious moves. I have liked Aldrick Robinson since his SMU days

RG3 will not be benched over Cousins in the Shannahan reign here, he is married to him. RG3 gets the benefit of two coaching staffs before he is done in Washington. Cousins may turn into a good QB but won't be able to show his talent unless Bob gets hurt.

I dunno who thinks Cousins would be in over RGIII barring injury. RGIII is the franchise guy unless he proves himself to be a Ryan Leaf type bust.

I just want the guy who can play the best football at QB in. If thats RG3 great. If its Cousins thats good too. What I don't want is to wait around like we did for Campbell. Personally I think Cousins has the better look in the NFL over RG3 at the moment but its way to early to speculate. One thing is for sure, between the both of them, I think we finally have our QB problems behind us. HTTR!

Very rational thought. Look around the league and you'll see franchise QBs can come from anywhere. They don't have to be high first round draft picks. Hope it's RG3, but if it turns out to be Cousins, so be it. I thought he looked great in the first game as well. Ideally, we end up with a Rivers-Brees situation.

I agree that our QB problems are behind us, and that is solely due to one RG-3. Do you know what he could have done to the bears second string D? How can you say Cousins has the better look in the NFL - all you have seen him do better is play more snaps against a second team defense? Against the Bills RG-3 played better against the first string than Cousins did against the second string. Throughout camp RG-3 has proven to be the better QB - and that too has been against the better D. Just curious why you think Cousins has the better "look"?

I'm not supporting Cousins being better but if RG3 is getting the majority of the snaps and Cousins is hardly seeing any at all then Cousins looks pretty good against second stringers for the few snaps he's getting. Nice timing, nice accurracy, good decision making. Not that RG3 isn't but he is getting a ton of snaps and should look better.
