Redskins' Franchise Record

I just added up all our wins and losses over the last 70+ years and it came up to 505-462 (not counting this year). I know that is over .500 but what's the real percentage? I don't know how to figure that out.

Re: record

jeez guys calm down LOL

To take the % add up the total, in this case = 967 and divide the wins by the total. 505/967 = .522

Re: record

I was having a hard time with the following formula last week as I was trying to calculate the original size of content encoded in Base64. It looks simple but it took me couple of hours to figure it out! Any of you fellas want to take a crack at it?

Equation:
((x + 3 - (x MOD 3)) / 3) * 4 = y

Question:
What is x?

Hint: Just do simple algebra to get x on one side all by itself.

Ok, first we get rid of MOD because I don't like it there and I can because I have MOD(erator) powers. So we get:

((x + 3 - (3x))/ 3) * 4 =y

And we remove the number 4 because Matty said so, and he's the Admin

So ((x + 3 - (3x))/ 3) =y. Now multiple each side by 3

3x + 9 - 3x =3y

3y=9

y =3

or why 3

or "What is Question 3"

Nice try Saden, you thought you could fool us!

(by the way, Hail2em, I'm looking for some historical winning percentages. No luck so far)

I love this site because I can be both a rabid Skins fan and a giant nerd (for example my earlier post on the 1984 references in Fox's power rankings). Its the duality of my being...

That three on the left side is under all of x+3-(3x) right?? so

At that point when you multiply both sides by three don't you just get rid of the three in the denominator so the equation at this point would be
x+3-3x=3y
then combine the x and -3x and get -2x+3=2y and then x =-(2y-3)/2 ?? so question 3 isn't the center of the universe??? can't be i must of done something wrong

Who knows. I was using "new math" So new that I invented it while writing the post
