The Rock or Betts?

Who do you think will get more carries this week? I think the word out at Redskins Park is that Betts will be the #2 man, but I can't believe that after The Rock's performance last week. My guess is they will each get 5-6 carries...

If JDESKIN had to choose he would choose the ROCK, and for no reason other than he had to say that. Actually i would love to see them both get equal amount of carries but i would not at all be surprised if Betts gets the majority of them.

Betts no doubt, but he does seem a bit injury prone.

Rock is more durable to me, Betts is injury prone

If Rock has another big game he could take the spot but right now it Betts.

You have to play over a certain threshold to be durable and Rocks can't really be considered durable since he doesn't played much.

Re: The Rock or Betts?

This is why the Redskins have struggled in so many ways in big games. If a player has made big plays in both games he was given the ball he should be given more time. We have four quarters to play ball and the Rock has proven he has the speed and power to get to the outside and up the middle. Betts is best running down the gut but he has not played in three weeks. He has fumbled in several games in his career when he was out for a long period of time. I hope Gibbs gets the ball to Rock in the third and fourth quarters when the opposing defense begans to get tired. We win this game by not turning the ball over and forcing turnovers pushing up the score by halftime to 21-3.

Choose your poison, each bring something different to the table and I think our running game would be more successful if we got the both of them more involved in the running game.

Yeah, it would be nice to get Betts involved. The problem is we would need to get him out of the trainer's room first. Since his rookie season, Betts has been inactive a full 16 games (an entire season)!

Positive post found!!!

I like the idea that we don't have to choose! If Betts plays you will also see Cartwright. It's a great Gibbs quality to have people guessing. Who woulda expected Sellers to catch so many TDs? or Cooley to catch so many passes? not our opposing defenses. Sure they cover Moss and back off when Portis isn't in the game, but we've shown with both Cartwright and Betts that they can both make big plays. Taylor Jacobs has yet to show his vigor for the 'play'. Farris will see endzone before Jacobs. Nonethess there is no controversy for #2 RB. Think about Denver. They roll with 4 RBs. Each of them very capable. And now I feel we have 3 very capable RBs. Let's enjoy! GO SKINS!!!

Re: The Rock or Betts?

rock is a bigger contrast to portis, so as a change up, i think he'd work better... BUT, he was playing against a crap run D, so its not a great comparision to betts work. Betts is injured an awful lot though.

Re: The Rock or Betts?

Cartwright looked great last week, and while Ladell is probably a better every down type of back, he is injury prone and returns kicks anyway. Give Rock the ball, he's earned it.

Joe Gibbs, can you smell what the ROCK is cookin'?!

Re: The Rock or Betts?

Simply both. Especially in the fourth quarter for the Rock. Fresh legs is always good against a warn out defense.
