From the ESPN live draft today.
Kellen Winslow, TE Miami
John Clayton, ESPN.com senior NFL writer: Joe Gibbs already told Kellen Winslow that if he's here, the Redskins will take him. He's the perfect H-back type tight end for the system that Gibbs wants to run. Gibbs coached Kellen Sr., so it's fitting that he gets to coach the son. I heard this quote a while ago though, so I dont know how much has changed since then. The FO is split but Joe does have the final say. Of course he said yesterday that the decision will be agreed upon by everyone.

I want Taylor. However, I Wont be overally dissapointed if we get winslow. Any way you look at it, we become a better team on saturday. The only way that we dont get better is trading #5 and Samuels for Gallery.

thats not going to happen. I dont think any of the top four teams will end up making any trades, everyone wants to much. All this hype might turn out to be nothing

I'm excited, because I feel that whoever we pick, we are going to become better with, therefore, we won't necessarily lose. I have been an adviocate for Taylor, but I wouldn't mind getting Winslow II

I think these KWII talks are a smoke screen by the skins. It seems like everything is falling into place for us to take Taylor....KW2 signed with the Postens, he release Chamberlain and then pick up that guy from Atlanta, Hid meeting with the team didn't go well according to some, and he has the attitude of a "soldier" which Gibbs isn't a fan of. Hopefully this blows over and on Saturday we are trying to figure out which number Taylor will take.

the draft is gonna be upside down now, especially with the manning fiasco.

yeah i can't believe eli's daddy is whining and pleading with the chargers to not draft his lil' boy. what a load of bull. i don't care if his dad was an all pro, he should be keeping nose out of this. he's just trying to get eli to new york so his son can get more endorsement deals. of course i hoped san diego would trade the pick before this, atleast once if not twice to get a multitude of picks to help out there many holes and get philip rivers or rothesberger who i think r both gonna be better than eli manning, but now i want them to do it more than ever. thats almost as bad as kurt warners wife nagging the coach for her husband to be the starter. |
