Biggest win since Super Bowl XXVI ?
Maybe it’s not in terms of final standings, but in terms of pure gratification, where does the “Monday Night Miracle” or the “Ring of Horror” game stack up. Is it the biggest, or most gratifying victory since the Super Bowl win over the Bills?
I can think of a few others since January 26, 1992. Here they are: -- 20-17 win over the Cowboys at RFK in the ’92 season. The Fumble, as it’s known -- 26-20 overtime win over the 49ers in San Fransisco to capture the NFC East title in 1999. -- The playoff win over the Detroit Lions (think it was 27-14) in the ’99 season. -- 33-20 Monday night victory over the Rams in St. Louis in 2000. |

Re: Biggest win since Super Bowl XXVI ?
I think this is by far the biggest win since the last super Bowl.
The significance of the 1999 playoff year wins were diminished by the bonehead front office moves after that season. Time will tell, however. If we make the playoffs this year, this game will be the reason. When, ahem, if, we win the Super Bowl in the next 4 years this game will be pointed to as the turning point. |

I'd say the playoff win in 1999 was bigger. This was the most emontial victory though. I never actually thought we'd lose in 99'. I thought we'd lose this game until the clock hit :00. I was so worried.

Re: Biggest win since Super Bowl XXVI ?
Beemnseven, this to me was the biggest win since all of those things you've mentioned above. Let me put it to you this way. I started following the Skins when I was 8 or 9 and I am 36 now. I remember how bad I felt when the Cowboys knocked out the Skins in the last game of the season in 1979. Since that point in time, I have always hated the Cowboys and love it anytime the Skins beat them. Last night I felt some measure of redemption for all of the suffering we have all been through for the past 10 years or more. The Skins may not win another game this season, but WE BEAT THE COWBOYS AT HOME IN FRONT OF THEIR CROWD!!! That is Awesome. Did you come up with the "Ring of Horror" I love it!

I wasn't paying attention to the game in 1979, (I was 5) but the loss that stings the most for me was in the '91 season at home to the Cowpies 24-21. 11-0 up to that point, and they ruin any thought of a perfect season -- and I truly think we were ripe for it. |

I beat you all for age.
Worst game was F*cking Clint Longley ruining my Thansgiving dinner. This is easily best since XXVI. Never have we been so low and dug so deep so late in the game. With all the boulders stacked against us, they never gave up. Not a coach, not a new kicker, not d-back. They just said no. I think I drank half the coffee in columbia today. Hail |

Re: Biggest win since Super Bowl XXVI ?
Easily the best win since Super Bowl XXVI...
They were expected to win the playoff game against Detroit...if they had followed it up by winning that Divisional Playoff game the next week against the big mouth Bucs that would have been bigger than last night.

Nah. This was the purest most gratifying win in a LONG time. I can't remember the last time I danced in my TV room after a game...but I did last night.

Re: Biggest win since Super Bowl XXVI ?
I think this is the biggest game since our last Super Bowl hands down....all those other games (except of course the ones against Dallas) are forgetable games to me, including the playoff games.

Re: Biggest win since Super Bowl XXVI ?
Definitely the biggest win since the 80's for me.
I felt like I was at the game when Brunell hit Moss for the 70 yarder. I was sitting on my brother's screened in porch with my brother and a friend. Then when Moss crossed the Goalline we 3 exploded waking up neighbors!!! I couldn't stop shaking my brother and pulling on his Portis jersey. UNREAL sums it up for me. Couldn't believe we finally make a good play at the end to put us ahead. After the pulling and jumping and high fives I noticed the clock and I still knew that Parcells and those damn Cowboys have done it so many times. Even last Christmas. We had the game in the bag and Testaverde completes a bomb to win. Been painful for so many years. Ofcourse the Redskins defense held and we won. I was and still in disbelief. Brunell throwing a 39 and a 70 yard TDs??? Down 13-0 with less than 4 minutes? Ring of honor inductees Aikman, Smith, Irvin? Monday night? Gibbs vs Parcells? Parcells 77-0 leading by atleast 13 in the 4th Q? Gibbs hasn't beat Parcells since 1987? Cowboys had won 15 of the last 16? Redskins haven't won in Dallas in 9 years? UNREAL. I still sticking with my idea," The Day the Earth Stood Still " I think it was that big a day for the Redskins, the entire organization and ofcourse us the fans. The impossible became reality for me last night as I'm sure is true for many fans. My mother even stayed up for the whole thing! I realize that it's a long season and we'll have lows ahead if we don't correct our giveaway/takeaway ratio and our penalties, but this one is SUPER sweet. Proud to ride around with my personalized Redskins license plates! Last night was UNREAL. PS- I was wearing my Gary Clark jersey!!!
