Re: John Beck Era Begins
I got to say im excited. I think of the problem Rex didnt work out is because his strengths were not utilized. I think the offense better suites Becks abilities but i really hope the coaches conform to Becks strengths.

Re: John Beck Era Begins
Just out of curiosity what would you consider as Rex's strengths? I am not being snarky or sarcastic here, serious question.

Yeah i was wondering the same thing when i was originally typing my comment.... But i do think Rex is good at somethings. He gets the ball off very quick and spreads it around well. I also think hes fairly acurate within 15 yards. What makes him so bad in my opinion is the fact that you can count on him making extremely horrible decisions when given the opportunity. He also has very bad "pocket presence" combined with poor ball security. He is also bad at reading and throwing into zones. I personally think that while he likes playing football games he isn’t passionate about the sport, which can be okay for some skill positions (WR, Art Monk) but not for the QB position. I guess im more saying that he was being forced to do things that we all knew he was bad at, rather than relying solely on his capabilities.

Washington Redskins to start John Beck at QB, source says - ESPN Oh well we were not going to win games with Qb play this year, it is going to be running game and Defense. I just hope that this doesn't become too big of a distraction. We will see how the team plays this week in a road game that we should be able to win. |

Re: John Beck Era Begins
It will be interesting to watch but I'm not expecting much of a difference bacause this O has multiple issues and Beck isnt going to change that. For the record, I hope he's the second coming of Kurt Warner.

Re: John Beck Era Begins
They had to make this move. I know guys supported Rex, he may be a great guy and all, but 18 turnovers here in 8 starts? C'mon man.

I bet most of the players are as excited as we are to see what Beck can do in a starting position with the surrounding cast of talent. He will change the dynamics of our offense. Between his mobile abilities plus his quick reads added to a trio of great RB's I see our offense moving much faster and confusing Defenses a little more with less telegraphing. Now will it be enough to change the W/L column? Thats a wait and see but I for one am very excited to see Beck get a chance. He has been extremely professional in the way he handled being #2. He kept himself prepared week after week for the nod. He deserves this opportunity. HTTR!!!!! |
