Now that camp is over, ESPN has training camp reports.

2010 Camp Confidential AFC - NFL Nation Blog - ESPN What do you'll think? I pretty much agree with what they said about Wsh. I am a little concerned with our WR's but they have to be given the chance before we say their no good.

Jim Haslett, the Redskins' overlooked defensive coordinator, deserves kudos - ESPN
I think this is a great piece of info as well from ESPN.com

I for one am thrilled at how healthy we got through camp. Sure Kelly is hurt, but what's new there? My biggest concern health-wise is Jamaal Brown's hip. We really need him.

Brown was a questionable pickup with his situation there. We might have been better served at just drafting another linemen instead of a TE. Brown is a great talent, but might become a big bust over the long haul if he is out often. You don't want Brown to be like Kelly at all. We gave up future talent for him.

I do too. I think we will luck out with him, but who knows. I believe in Allen and Shanny, but this draft was a little weird for me. We drafted a TE, when we have two young stud TEs already, and a speedy, but woefully undersized WR. We should have drafted another lineman or two, or a LB. Austin is a good bet to be either cut outright or stuck on the PS. Whether Jamaal works out or not, his acquisition cost us future picks. A little more youth and depth would go along way to help Shanny build something special in DC. |

Capers, Cook, Kory L, Edwin Williams, and Chad Rinehart make for a nice haul of prospects and provide good depth. On top of that Heyer is actually playing well at RT. I personally hope they keep 10 guys but usually teams carry 9 lineman.

It's amazing! Who would of thought that not beating your guys into submission durring 2 a days would result in minimal injuries? Coaches at every level can learn something from this example.

One "complaint" I heard about the previous Redskins trainers was that their training methods were unconventional and maybe a bit ahead of its time, so a lot of players resisted their methods. What sayeth the Scud?

The quick paced practices really forces everyone to pay attention and be ready. His calling out slackers and making them run sprints keeps them on their toes. Canceling practices and letting players rest when the play level in practice drops helps maintain the high level of play. I really like this: "Shanahan is conducting an interesting experiment with some of his former players. In the past couple of weeks, he has turned to his former standouts to help teach these Redskins his system. Former Broncos star Terrell Davis spent more than a week with the Redskins, helping pass along the lessons he learned in Shanahan's offense. Former Buccaneers and Broncos running back Michael Pittman has done the same. Former Raiders, Panthers and Broncos quarterback Steve Beuerlein has been brought in to work with Redskins quarterbacks. And even former Broncos and Jets safety Steve Atwater is now in Washington, working with Redskins defensive backs. The former players have enjoyed getting a taste of the coaching life." I guess what I am really trying to say is one of Shanahan's strengths is creating a really productive and positive work environment. I like it. |

Very good read and gives some insight as to why Haslet got the job in DC, as much as all of us were dissappointed with the hire of Jim Haslett, I like the hire and what he could bring to this team. Schefter hit on alot of good things Haslett brgins to a team that already has great players.

IMO..I think he's done in Washington unless he has a Victor Cruz outing in game #3 or #4...

Yeah they did ours almost 2 weeks ago I think, it'll be good to go back and see the ones of some of our opponents that I hadn't checked though
