Now What??

So we just suffered possibly the worst loss in franchise history, and have dropped to 1-2 (could very easily be 0-3). The offense looks flat out bad, and the defense got gassed big time, especially in the 1st half. And our secondary is pretty darn bad by the way.

So, what do we do? Knee jerk is to just fire Zorn. We don't just look average, we look lost, uninspired, and we seem to be regressing. That's on the coach.

If you're calling the shots, what do you do to fix the Redskins? Measured steps? Blow it all up and start over?

Obviously our current path isn't working at all, on either side of the ball. The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results....

Re: Now What??

Can't fire Zorn unless you are ready to toss in the towel on the entire season.

I say sticking with Zorn is like tossing in the towel,is there a worse coach in the nfl? not in my mind.I dont give a shit who the interim is,it would be hard to be as bad as Zorn

Gotta agree with that. I don't think canning him right now would make us any better, but I also don't think we're going to get any better with him around either.

To me, accepting that penalty on 3rd down in the first half shows me Zorn's acumen, or lack thereof. My big toe knows enough to decline that penalty and force a 4th down.

Zorn's excuse for accepting the penalty was that he felt they were already in FG range and he wanted to move them back ten yards. Obviously his decision backfired on him.

this is true, but a few months in advance to maybe look at other coaches, or evaluate players might help this team

All of what we saw today was not on Zorn, these players need to take a long hard look.

Thumbs down Re: Now What??

Were was our powerful D. I know they were on the field allot but our d backs can't cover no one .and we have no pressure which doesn't help the d backs,,,,Why can't we ever find Cooley in the endzone..This is one sucked to no end..It's going to be hard to leave the house..I'M STOPPING BECAUSE I COULD GO ON AND ON..

Can't say I'm surprised.

I could have told you after the giants game that we weren't going to be competitive this year. The rams game just affirmed it. This lions game just showed it.

I'd be more upset if I already didn't see this coming.

Agreed, this isn't a big surprise.

I'm pretty sure the players are this close to revolting and tossing in the towel on the season. And if they aren't I'm pretty sure Danny boy is.

Holmgren's not a miracle worker. Any HC needs a reasonable amount of time to install his system. Head coach transitions aren't that easy in this league.

Agreed, but Holmgren's(Gruden's IMO) short work would still equal ALOT more than Zorn has accomplished here in the last 2 years. Picking another coach with WCO background could help speed up the process as well.
