Carl Peterson resigns in KC
ESPN - Kansas City Chiefs general manager Carl Peterson resigns
They're had a couple crappy seasons but I wouldn't be opposed to seeing him as part of the organization. He's got a strong sense of the NFL and what it takes to build a winner and will bring some much needed leadership to the front office.

Re: Carl Peterson resigns in KC
So long Herman Edwards.
Hey, what if the Chiefs offer us a 1st and a 2nd round draft pick for the rights to Vinny? |

Yea... no Carl for me... I would try and lure Beathard out of retirement for the second time... he did great things everywhere.

How has Peterson built a winner exactly?
When was the last time KC was in a Super Bowl? |

Re: Carl Peterson resigns in KC
Peterson's best days are behind him. When Marty Schottenheimer was there with him, the Chiefs were always in the playoff picture and usually in the post-season. Recently, he allowed the team to get old - - don't we know what that is about here in DC? - - and they are in a youth movement now. Youthful NFL teams usually don't do very well and the Chiefs aren't doing all that well.

Re: Carl Peterson resigns in KC
20 years in KC and his crowning moment was the AFC Championship game in '93. I think we can pass.

Re: Carl Peterson resigns in KC
Yeah well, Vinny + Danny + (fill in the blank HC thus far) = mediocrity. Sometimes a tad better than mediocre, and sometimes borderline laughing stock. I'm open to all options/suggestions right now as far as FO is concerned.

Re: Carl Peterson resigns in KC
I don't disagree. That's why we don't bring Peterson in cause he would be no improvement over Vinny. I would much rather get Bobby DePaul or the new young guy we brought this year from Chicago (can't remember his name) be given a chance. Young Blood!! No retreads!!

Re: Carl Peterson resigns in KC
Peterson, probably not. His resume isn't too bad though. For a 10 year span they were the model franchise. One of the top 5 in the NFL year in and year out.
Probably just misfortune that they never won a SB. I could live w/ Peterson vs VC. |
