I think we got it Right..Almost
I am really starting to like this Zorn Hire. I don't know why but he seems like a good dedicated guy who won't be afraid to go down FIRING. The only move I have been upset with was the letting go of Williams. At the same time we kept everything on the defense in place and are still going to implement Buges running terminology and style.
I don't know about you guys but the only thing I think we are missing from last year is the unwavering head coach who knew how to put the right people in the right places. The good thing is almost all of these people are still there along with all the key players. The one thing I was afraid of was the continued development of the QB, but we seem to have a great guy to do that. When it is all said and done I don't think we are taking a step back but building on last year. Only one thing is going to change my opinion and that is if Zorn becomes Dan's puppet and we revert back to signing everything and anything. I for one think he has learned a little from Gibbs and won't treat this like fantasy football anymore, with maybe an exception (Trufant anyone?). |

I agree somewhat. If I got to "have my cake and eat it to" it would have been to promote Williams to the Head Coach position, Promote Blanche to the DC, Bring in Zorn as the OC, Bring is Floyd as the GM.
that being said . . . it seems like Zorn is making enough supplemental offensive hires to be able to spend quality time with JC |

I like your post. If Floyd was brought in what exactly would you assume happens to Vinny Cerrato - termination? demotion? changing of job title to: "Assistant GM - Rackqetball operations"? |

Don't forget...JC went 13-0 utilizing the WCO his senior year at Auburn. Of course, many people said this was due to the fact that he had two kick-ass RB's. Makes me think of somebody...wait...I know who it is: Clinton Portis and Ladell Betts!

Good post. I'm excited too even though i'm a GW guy and wanted him in there. Now that it's over w/ i'm ready to start pulling for JZ. I only hope he has enough pull to do things his way and not let DS dictate to him.

Re: I think we got it Right..Almost
I have to say that I am pesamistically optimistic here. In a way I'm kinds glad we are going with something totally new on offense even though the Skins were the last great team to not have baught into a total WC system. I'm glad we went with a new young(50ish) lol head coach. Someone who can be here for a while if this system kicks butt. I like the moves he is making as far as coaches go to assist him in his decision making. I keep telling myself this will be a wash year due to the changes in system and learning curv but inside I find myself wanting to see this team take it to the next level and explode on people(especially the Patriots.lol).

He hasn't won a game yet and you think we got it right?

Hasn't lost a game yet either, and yet some say this is the worst decision since the dawn of time.

Re: I think we got it Right..Almost
Just to be clear, it has been my experience and history has shown that new coaches don't win right out of the gate. Also, I don't have a problem with Zorn in particular but Snyder and his hiring "process." I hope for my sanity's sake Zorn wins.

Re: I think we got it Right..Almost
I'm kinda indifferent to this head coaching hire. I'm always hopefully optimistic but this hire has my head spinning and I feel like I just got off a merry-go-round. First Joe Gibbs retires, then Greg Williams interviews four times and seems like the guy, then Dan Snyder interviews everyone and their brother, then Snyder releases Al Saunders and Greg Williams, now it looks like Fassel is the guy, no let's wait until the Superbowl is over so we can talk to Spagnuolo, he turns downs the job, so the Redskins hire Jim Zorn as head coach when nobody knew he was a candidate. Whew! I'm dizzy. I hope this all works out.
