Wow, guess they needed a spark of some sort? I didn't think Pennington had played all that bad the last few weeks.

You would think so, but he actually fared pretty well against the Ravens and earned a lot of respect from the Baltimore and New York presses.

They brought him in for the last two series against Buffalo yesterday and he threw two INTs. He's starting his first game. We need to make him feel us.

Williams needs to dial up some blitzes. Their pass pro has been awful this year. Time to bring the noise. This D needs to get some frustration out.

With Rogers out, I would think he'll hold off on the blitzes until he feels that the pass coverage can handle the absence. Not saying they won't, but I just don't expect much in the way of blitzing initially. We need to play smart, not emotional. I'd hate to lose this game because we got called for a record number of roughing the passer penalties.

He's starting his second game and in his first he made enough plays to win the football game. If McCariens could have held onto a football, they would have tied that game and sent it into overtime. He had a great 4th quarter against the Ravens D and almost won the game. The move to Clemens is something I've been saying the Jets should do since that game, I'm not happy that it came this week...

Damn, Man-Genius is an ignoramous. Klemens should be on the side lines holding a clipboard. I told guys at my job, that we are just going to have to take our frustrations out on the Jets.

I still like our chances in this game. Clemens might be a good player someday but not yet, at least not this weekend.

this move makes me nervous...clemens is a lot better than pennington!

We should still win though.

Correction- He has a better arm than Pennington. He still doesn't have the leadership or experience. I say we bring the house and fluster him early. We've had plenty of success with blitz packages in the past with GW, why not give it a whirl this weekend? The Jets flat out stink. They have an awful defense and a worse offense. They just got swept by the Bills and couldn't score a TD at home against a bottom 5 defense. We gotta get right in a big way this weekend. Aside from Miami week 1, there is NO QUESTION this is the softest team on our schedule. I wanna grudge f... this team.

That's true to an extent. While Pennington is better with leadership and experience, it won't be hard for Clemens to surpass him in both catagories. Clemens is much more talented, and we have seen the end of the Pennington area.
Changing QB's seems to have a positive effect on teams...like a shot in the arm, just what we don't need with all our injuries.

No he's not. Pennington isn't losing games for the Jets, their whole team is. They picked up a VERY good RB in Thomas Jones and can't even use him more than 15 times a game because they're always playing from behind.

The fans just wanted a change of pace and at 1-7, what could it hurt?

It's like when we (you people) were crying for Patrick Ramsey when we weren't winning with Brunell, Ramsey was clearly not better but losing makes fans want change.

Then suddenly Brunell helped us win 6 straight and make the playoffs.

Pennnington's a pretty good QB, smart, strong arm...just in a horrible situation.

Re: Clemens to start for NY on Sunday

Clemens is everything that Pennington is not. However, he does not have Pennington's leadership or heart...at 1-7, the Jets are preparing for life after Pennington.

Smart yes, strong arm, not so much. He's had so many arm troubles in his career...
