John Hall won't be brought back
This is from Pro Football Weekly: Whispers from around the NFL
The Redskins likely will have a new kicker in 2007. Though Shaun Suisham missed only two kicks in 11 attempts, team sources think they can do better. John Hall will not be brought back. |

Any good FA kickers available?

No surprise there. How much money will that free up? Schneed?
Even though Suisham did a good job towards the end, I also think they can do better. |

This move is definitely no surprise. The writing was all over the wall. Josh Brown is available, I believe.

Re: John Hall won't be brought back
This was only a year overdue.
Didn't Suisham hit the first 50 yarder in a decade? I hope they at least give him a shot. |

Re: John Hall won't be brought back
I'm all for that. I mean I'm with everyone, I want a hellava competition because kicking has cost us enough games since wayyyyyy back when. But I think Suisham deserves a shot to compete as well.

Re: John Hall won't be brought back
Well there is NFL.com - Mike Vanderjagt
but I hope Suisham at least gets a chance. He was better than anything we've had since Hall was healthy his first season here. |

Re: John Hall won't be brought back
Exactly, our special teams did a pretty good job of limiting return yards this past season, but it would help them a ton if the returner didn't start at the 5 or 10 every time.

Re: John Hall won't be brought back
There are some pretty good kickers in college right now whether or not they are coming out this year I really don't know.

Re: John Hall won't be brought back
I feel like good college kickers can be pretty iffy when they get to the NFL; maybe it's because the ball is different. This is one situation where I'd really rather pick up a free agent.

Though I'm also not opposed to giving Suisham a shot. Matty, on your note about Josh Brown not being available, this got me thinking it's perfectly possible that the players currently listed as eligible for free agency in March may be cut in half by the time March rolls around. With so many teams absolutely flush with cap space, a lot of teams will be able to keep their guys if they so choose. We might see a lot of the quality free agents reupping with their teams over the next six weeks. That applies to every position, including kicker.

Re: John Hall won't be brought back
Let Hall go back to the Jets. It would be nice if we had a kicker that had a chance from 50 yards out for a change.
