SI.com - Unhappy Ending
Struggles may pave way to exits for Parcells, Gibbs - Peter King
SI.com - Writers - Peter King MMQBTE: NFL lions in winter - Tuesday October 24, 2006 1:55PM Joe Gibbs and Bill Parcells. Lions in winter. "I'm ashamed to put out a team that plays like that,'' Parcells, the Dallas coach, said Monday night after his Cowboys got drilled by the Giants. He could have been speaking for both men, after Washington's poiseless players contributed to Gibbs' fifth loss this season Sunday at Indianapolis Weird stat of the week: Gibbs and Parcells both lost 36-22 over the weekend. Sad stat of the year: These two coaching giants are a combined 46-47 in their NFC East Comeback Tour in regular-season games, 1-1 in the playoffs. Father Time stat of the year: Gibbs and Parcells are each 65. We all wonder whether this is the end for both men, whether six months from now Parcells will be at his home in Saratoga Springs awaiting the summer thoroughbred meet and whether Gibbs will be back at his auto-racing garage in North Carolina, plotting how to win a stock car championship. These two used to own the playoffs and won five of the 10 Super Bowls between 1983 and 1992, but are in danger of leaving the game without winning a single postseason game beyond the wild-card round in their final coaching stops. Re: SI.com - Unhappy Ending
poiseless players eh? alright king you want to play? we'll play. hahahahah
i wish for once that king could come down to the redskins practice and suit up and try to catch a ball with sean taylor waiting to lay him out. although that has nothing to do with the article, .......i'd still like to see it. i think both are on there way out, gibbs looks like he is kind of tired of coaching IMO. if we dont win 10 games or so i think he will retire again,or be asked to leave as for bill "blueberry" parcells. he is as good as gone.

Shows how much King knows.
Parcells was having a house built in Saratoga, I know because I've seen it with my own eyes, but he sold it before it was finished. |

I agree with King that they looked lacking in poise. You KNOW not to take off your helmet/excessively celebrate despite how idiotic the rule is. It's a know rule. Adhere to it, don't make it any harder for your team to win.
