I don't agree that expectations went down when we took Cooley. From the sounds of it he has all the tools to fit into the system very nicely. He can block, he has good hands and he's intelligent. Not to mention he's not a royal pain in the ass who will freak out when the ball isn't coming his way enough.

I find it hilarious that the so called experts all thought that KWII was going to be the pick, but I think I can speak on behalf of most of us fans when I say that we knew all along that KWII was not the best option and most of us didn't want him at all.

As for McCants playing h-back, I don't see it happening. Too gimmicky, definitely not Gibbs' style. As people have already said, Gibbs is all about protection, he's not going to risk a sack by lining up a WR at h-back in a passing situation. Gibbs does dip into the trick play bag on occassion, but even those risks are calculated and well thought through.

hey Diehardskin. I'm 50 years old and have been a redskin fan since the Norm Snead, Rickie Harris era. I'm trying to remember being this excited about one of our teams before the start of a season and I can't. Can you or any other long term fans? If so which team and what season? Thinking about it as I type. Maybe it was when we got Vince Lombardi. I knew than that we were moving away from our habitual losing. It's times like these that make the old 3 and 11 seasons lose their sting. Many good times ahead for us. JUSTRICK

I'm hype too, more now than before. I didn't like the first spending spree because alot of those were just old, but know it some hard core talent I just hope that everyone stays healthy for the majority of the year.
