Furthermore, they can't seem to find him a contract and he is past the point where the free agents tend to get the big contracts. I wonder if he might sign a 1-year offer and gamble that his numbers make him a valuable commodity in the offseason?

If I were Arrington, I would fire my agent, get a new agent, and beg for a 1-year contract from the 'Skins who still have a hole at weakside LB.
Yes & Yes! The postons are at least a big part of his problems. If it weren't for them I think he'd still be a skin.
I've thought of this scenario too, he fires them & hires rosenhaus, a danny favorite, and we resign him for decent $. The only way for this to happen is if he fires the postons & tells danny that they're to blame for the contract dispute.

Some team might end up with a bargain for one year.
except they did get a HUGE deal for J. Peterson w/seatlle, that's got to be part of the reason they think they can land Lavar a comparable one.

LA will end up with the Giants. He wants to play the Skins twice next year and get some revenge. He is not going to play in freezing GB.

Wasn't that the game when they were down near their endzone and he ran about two yards past the line and just kind schuffled the ball to someone not even getting close. Then time ran out or they ran out of downs and he could have atleast tried to run it in. I almost think Farve wants to get cut so he could see if any other teams come calling that have a better chance of getting to the playoffs. He could then blame it on the team and not take the blame for leaving for another team.

The game is FINALLY over?

Filed under:— Dan Benton @ 5:34 am
I don’t know how many times I dare post “it’s done”. It’s been nothing but trouble for me since day one. But… I can only go with what I hear. So as I usually do, here are the RUMORS.
Not one, not two, not three… Seven sources left me a message for when I woke up this morning. All saying the same exact thing. This time they’re sure.. This time it’s real. They swear up and down that this time it’s accurate.
There was word yesterday Lavar Arrington had announced he’s made up his mind and that the public would hear more in 24 hours. Now there is a strong indication that, that was as true as could be.
For those still hoping that Arrington will be a Giant, you may in fact get your wish.
I have every reason to believe (again - silly me) that Arrington will finally become a New York Giant. Today? Tomorrow? I don’t know. I don’t dare put a time table on the situation again. If the ESPN News report (which a reader on G101 said he heard) is accurate, it could mean Arrington is a Giant today.
I’ve got to admit, if this is all true I am a bit disappointed. At first I wanted LA as much as the next guy. But as I began taking a look at the draft and going over the potential linebackers, I really liked the idea of drafting one more. Not to say Arrington isn’t a talent, because he certainly is, I would have just preferred a rookie the Giants could mold.
If nothing else, at least this saga should finally die.
Update:
I spoke to Jason LaCanfora of the Washington Post via e-mail today. (Who was kind enough to respond to me while on vacation.)
As he has said previously, the Giants were never out of the picture. He stated that if the Arrington camp was to drop the price, there was no doubt in his mind Arrington would sign with the Giants. His guess is that, that is exactly how this will (or is) going down.

Well hopefully Protis will blow right by where arrington was supposed to be. I would much rather him goto GB or jacksonville where we wouldn't have to humiliate him twice a year. Good Luck lavar.

Re: Packers meet with Lavar

Good freakin riddance! I am tired of people talking about LaVar. He is gone, no longer a member of our team. If he wants to sign with a NFC east team then so be it. That only makes it sweeter when we embarrass him twice in a year. I am happy about the decision. It kind of reminds me of when we lost Bailey, and our defense got better. When we lost Pierce and his defense sucked, while ours prevailed. When we lost Smoot and his whole team sucked and he wasnt even a regular contributor in Minnesotta. The point that I am making is that our team is cleaning house of all of the Primas who think that they are better than they actually are. I think that our team while they do pay top dollar for free agents, they know the value of what they have and what is out there.

Yeah I saw it on comcast sportsnet too. His agent says they will close within days. But apparently he took a physical there, and they have come to terms. Right now its kinda at the point, when we knew TO was a part of the Dallas squad, but it wasnt official

Packers | Team told Arrington signing elsewhere; most likely with the Giants
Fri, 21 Apr 2006 18:01:52 -0700

Tom Silverstein, of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, reports according to a National Football League source, the Green Bay Packers were informed that free agent LB LaVar Arrington (Redskins) planned on signing with another team. It's unclear who Arrington is going to sign with, but his visit to the New York Giants is a pretty good sign that they are in the lead for his services.

also, apparently the dolphins have a $5mill a year offer on the table, arrington wants $7.5...
