Joe Gibbs lied
Joe Gibbs was on 106.7 addressing the fans at the draft party saying "Patrick Ramsey is my quarterback" and "We're gonna try to get him some weapons through this draft."
The productive portion of this draft is over and not only did he not help Ramsey with weapons he picked another QB. I'm not at all surprised because I was pretty sure this was where they were going. He was asked if they would stay at 9, he said, "We will probably move around regarding that pick." That didn't happen either. He lied. Period. To the fans, right before the draft. The words came out of his mouth, live and he didn't do anything he said. Smokescreen? 12 minutes before the draft? No. Lie. Point blank, to the fans. He lied. Dan Snyder is really starting to rub off. |

Also, maybe they TRIED to move from the picks they had, but didn't get a good trade offer. This is a business. Ramsey will start this year and if he does well, he keeps his job, if not, we have other options. |

No, you're right, the draft isn't over. I'm sure they'll get an insanely productive WR in the 4th round.

Re: Joe Gibbs lied
Green Bay and other teams said they tried to move up and couldn't maybe the Redskins tried and couldnt get any takers on a trade up.........I think I will give Gibbs the benefit of the doubt..........

Re: Joe Gibbs lied
I could care less that they didn't move. Acknowledge the parts that actually offended me. Him saying that they were going to get Ramsey some weapons and they Ramsey is his guy. If he really were, they wouldn't have gone out of their way to get another QB.

Gibbs shows Ramsey all the loyalty of a pirate.

I would have been more concerned if we'd drafted a kicker. We still have a lot of draft ywt AND there may be some movement with Gardner still. Particularly now they've said they've they will bring Gardner into camp to prep him for this season. |

A note aside...I just noticed your signature. I like it. You and I share very similar views and I haven't paid attention to whether it happens to you, but I know people say I'm not a fan or I'm a fair weahter fan because I take a realists approach to the team. I think being too young to remember Gibbs's first tenure benefits me in my objectivity to this team. |

Re: Joe Gibbs lied
I agree, jdlea. Gibbs was great in his day (but even then wasn't good at personel decesions) and people are unwilling to say he may be doing something wrong. I feel he is, and I always try to look at the team honestly instead of with optimism.
If I were fairweather I'd save myself a lot of time and hop on the Patriots bandwagon - It would really be helpful. If I keep changing I won't have an Ulcer by the time I hit 26!

Re: Joe Gibbs lied
Totally agree Daseal. That's pretty much how I feel most times. That's why I always threaten to leave the team despite the fact that I can't.
I heard a comparison once that "your team" is like a bad Catholic marriage to any true fan. No matter how bad they are to you and rip your heart out, you can't get out. As much as you want to, you can't get out. I often say I'm done, but it never happens. I think it's in my DNA. I love this team and I couldn't leave em if I tried. |

Re: Joe Gibbs lied
I am dissappointed also getting another QB, but Gibbs is not too convinced with Ramsey. I would of liked to see our team address other needs but who am I to question a guy that has won 3 super bowls. I am about ready too though. As for trading Gardner I don't see it the draft. Probably I would say we get a 3 or 4 round pick after this years draft. I am glad we did not throw away our first round picks for a top 5, I just had a bad feeling about that one-like the Demond Howard deal. Lets hope we get good deals in our future draft picks.
