Cheap way to improve special teams. RT @RavensInsider Redskins three-year deal for Adam Hayward is $3 million, including $300K guaranteed.

It's good that the price tag is so low. Nonetheless I don't understand signing on the first day of FA a guy who will be 30 before the season starts.

Given how bad our ST were last year I don't care if the guy is 80 as long as he can play.

Lorenzo Alexander is 30, who wouldn't take him back in an instant?

This guy is a clone of Lorenzo Alexander.

This is a day one message to the fans that the Redskins are going to make the moves to make our special teams better.

I could swear that you said that you wouldn't sign anyone over 27 (my number would be 28).

Whether I'm remembering correctly or not, I'm sticking to that philosophy. To get your best value in FA you get 'em young.

There must be a 26-year-old out there who could be made into a reserve LB and special teamer.

We still bringing in the Bucs former players, how did EJ Biggers turn out last season ? It was not what we were hoping for .

Thats right, no one should pick up Tampa players because they are the suck.
Thats my strategy too.

I did say that, but I'd let that slide for a special teamer/low contract guy.

you don't sign big money/long term deals with old players, 1mill is not big, and if he can fix our STs, then you make the move. no issue with this, though i don't really know him to be honest.

Get Arizona on the phone!

With our need at ILB letting him go last year was a mistake. We could use the depth and st play badly.

Did you by any chance ever get any clarification on the cap from last year? I have heard the we were 1.3 under and 878k over. I am guessing we were legally over last year. If not we could have paid that 1.3 to Zo and spread that bonus over 3 years.

Seriously though good signing.

Fair enough. The money isn't big enough to get too worked up about, no matter what.
