Re: Cooley Out for the YEAR!!

Well fuck, this is definitely something that we didn't need. Davis looked good but Cooley isn't a "replaceable" player like that. Davis' blocking wasn't looking as good as it has at times too, since he's faced a tougher rush.

Re: Cooley Out for the YEAR!!

Luckly Big Fred stepped up with his catching. His protection sucked!!

Damn. Horrible.

Fred is a GREAT receiver but can't block.

Well at this point it might be a positve... I guess its a good opproutnity to look at Davis... thats not a knock on Cooley, he's def the best player on this offense, but were not going anywhere this year, we mine as well evaluate our young talent.

Well, if it has to happen, let it be in a shitty year like this. Get well CC.

Re: Cooley Out for the YEAR!!

This sucks, but having quality depth with Davis should lessen the blow. Hopefully Davis breaks out, and we have two great TE options next year.

Re: Cooley Out for the YEAR!!

This will show how much of we took for granted Cooley's blocking. I feel like Davis stepped up and receiving wise it won't be that huge of a loss but at the same time we will sorely miss Cooley blocking wise.

Re: Cooley Out for the YEAR!!

Yeah man that replay looked downright nasty...he just stepped wrong and "POP" there it went.

...Davis can become a better blocker and he showed promise tonight. But let's not fool ourselves, it makes no difference who gets injured the oline is a joke and Jason has regressed sharply. This season is over...it's actually very hard to find another win on the schedule...we'll be very "lucky" to win 4 games total.

Uhhh Chris Cooley is a pass catching tight end. I have seen him called out as a pass blocker countless times.

I definitely wasn't saying Cooley was an elite blocker, but he did a decent job and had a few bad plays mixed in. Compare that to Davis, who looked almost as bad as Heyer trying to stop Trent Cole. Davis brings almost nothing to the table as a blocker, his value is solely as a pass catcher.
