If You have Wanted Season Tickets Now Might Be The Time

Two years ago I did not renew my season tickets and this year I have received 3 to 4 things from their home office trying to get me to buy tickets. Today in the mail I received a bill that stated they want me back and I could buy back the same four tickets I had 2 years ago. I bet if you called the home office you could might have some luck scoring some season tickets. If your interested here is the number that was on the letter they sent me (301)276-6050.

Dang Firstdown, if you got the money thats a good deal! But, Can I ask why you didn't re-up yours? I only ask because I can't help but think that alot of people are discontinuing their tickets because the prices are just to dang high. I mean, I didn't re-up my tickets because they rose the prices on mine to dang much! Almost a one thousand dollar price increase over a four year span. Pissed me off! I had good seats too, but Danny is just to dang greedy. I'm a little curious so I hope you don't mind me asking.

I had 4 season tickets in the upper level and I we just could only make 3 to 4 games a season. We decided it would be cheaper to just buy lower level tickets to a few games then having the season tickets. I found trying to sell my other tickets I was loosing money on those tickets. The thing I received today the four tickets are $2,560 Parking pass $350 and the $25.00 fee and that seems about what I paid 3 years ago.

Re: If You have Wanted Season Tickets Now Might Be The Time

Just to add my opinion, Ive received several calls and several mailings about how my name has now come up on the list. One day I actually received 3 of them in the same mail. Im guessing they are really strugglin' trying to sell tickets in this economy. Ive had mine in section 129 for 5 seasons now and its pretty painful to write that check when I know I have to pay for the tailgate club (xtra grand for season). If I could dump the tailgate I would in a heartbeat but Im stuck. All Im saying though is that I think the FO is really hurting for sales.

Re: If You have Wanted Season Tickets Now Might Be The Time

I got a mailing a few months ago saying my name was officially off the waiting list (I got on the list back in 1999), and that there were 200,000+ people behind me. They gave me a login number and password, and said I had until may 15th to log in and redeem my season tickets. I didn't. So what happened? They've emailed me like 6 times in the past two weeks. They're hurting. The May 15th deadline was just some weak BS sales tactic to create false urgency. Ha. Frankly the past few times I've been to FedEx Field I've found it to be a logistical nightmare and kind of a pain in the ass to be honest. A game or two a year is enough for me. Other than that, I'll stick to my comfy couch and HD tv.

I don't think the date they gave was BS its just that they don't have people buying the tickets so now they are hitting up anyone who they think will buy the tickets. I'd guess if they don't sell the season tickets they will not have a very hard time selling them as individual games instead of season tickets. I know I will buy a couple of games if they still have tickets left come the season. What they will loose money on is the preseason tickets they force on every season ticket holder. In my case that was a wasted $65x8=520 and was the major reason I did not renew my tickets.

Re: If You have Wanted Season Tickets Now Might Be The Time

I didn't re-up my season tickets this year and I recieved two mail offers and two emails telling me that "time was running out". I'm not kidding. Three months after "time had run out" they sent me something else in the mail saying that I still had time. When they sent me the second email I went ahead and called them up and told them "thanks, but no thanks". I just can't afford it. They rose the prices to darn much. I would have to go into debt over the tickets.

If only Danny wasn't so darn greedy. It pisses me off! Not only has he rose the ticket prices from $790 to $1090 in one season. He also raises the price of beer from $6 to $8 over the course of three seasons. And then he he raises the price for shitty stadium food too. ohhhh, I almost forgot he raises the price of parking too! You know we're the only stadium that charges hundred's of dollars to park a vehicle? Did you all know that?

Anyways, its good to see that they are hurting a little bit. Hopefully, Danny will lower the ticket prices some. That way we can afford them again.

I chose not to re-up. They kept prices flat, and moved us a few rows down, but its a huge B!TCH to sell tickets to the games you can't go to. Holy crap I hope I never have to post another ticket ad on craigslist again. I'd rather pay under face value for a few of the cheaper games, like TB or KC this year.

Re: If You have Wanted Season Tickets Now Might Be The Time

They finally sent me paperwork for season tickets from when I got on the waitlist 8 years ago... it doesn't make sense now with a 5 hour round trip for me. Good seats to 2 or 3 games a season is more my speed right now. Plus Fedex just doesn't have the atmosphere to make me "have to be there". Call me old school but it's hard to enjoy fedex as much when you grew up going to RFK with your dad. He actually dropped his seats after the first season at Fedex saying it was all about getting less but paying more. Plus he told me the people around his seats were a bunch of kooks who would read books during the game and stuff. It's still nice to breathe in that crisp october night air and watch the skins beat up the cowboys under the lights. It sends shivers up my spine as i type

You stated the reasons I didnt re-up a few years ago, plus with HD TV its almost better than being there. Its amazing because I never used to miss a game but now if someone gave me a ticket I'd have to really think about going since HD is so good and the hassles of getting to FedEx are many.

Re: If You have Wanted Season Tickets Now Might Be The Time

IF you have the money in your "discretionary spending pile" AND IF you can realistically make it to at least 6 if not all 8 of the regular season games, go buy season tix. Forget all the bullspit about how there is a 58-year waiting list; there isn't; you can score tickets now. And that means you can have them next year too if you want them.

HOWEVER, if you can't go to almost all of the games, but you can make it to only one or two, here is how you can walk up and get tix and save money over the season ticket price.

Go and buy a single game ticket to a premium seat on game day. The price is outrageous but if you are only going to be able to see a game a year or two at the max the cost is less than or equal to a season ticket deal for lesser seats.

The ticket trolls on the phone will swear to you that this is not an option. Now hear this; they lie like a rug. I've done it at least five times over the past five or six years.

Do the math when it comes to your own scheduling and see what might make sense for you and your bank account. YOUR bank account is more important than Danny Boy's.

Remember, when you buy season tix, you have to buy tix to the 2 exhibition games here too - - at full price. Good luck trying to sell those for anything more than $5.

Why do I NOT have season tix? Simple.

The gameday experience at Fed Ex is not worth the hassle plus the cost on a routine basis. If I want to see a particular game, I can get tix in a dozen different places. But it will have to be a really good game - with decent weather forecast - to tempt me to see the game at the stadium because Fed Ex is one of the four or five worst stadiums in the league to enjoy a game.

But if the "live game experience" is worth the cost to you about 8 times a year, this is an opportunity to get in on the deal. The Skins - - like virtually every other team in US pro sports - - have seen a reduction in the percentage of season tix renewals this year. If this is "your time to get in on the action", go for it. Presumably, you wouldn't be one of the folks who might sell your tix to Steelers' fans for a national TV game showing just how resolute DC fans are...

Re: If You have Wanted Season Tickets Now Might Be The Time

Living in Connecticut I wound up going with the dreaded OBV seats. Had those for like 4 years and decided not to re-up this year. My son went down this past saturday and got nice seats in section 230 with no pillars in the way!!! Might be making a few games myself this year now. Definately the opener. In comparison to RFK; there is none. I truly miss those days.
