Skins/Giants Matchup

FOX Sports - NFL Head to Head - Head to Head
Just a some stats to think about although, anything can happen in NY, they also already took their bye last week which I think is good for us b/c it is a long season to go only 1/3 into it and alot of finger pointing is left for Vagiants.

Their defense seems to be about the same as last year in production hopefully this is not their week to change that. LB Emmons will not be playing and LA hopefully will.

Re: Skins/Giants Matchup

remember last year I think the Giants were last or close to the bottom in Defense and think more specifically running D when we went up there. Stats are out the window here. I think before that game which was the 6th of the season we were top 10 in O and D.

We win if we don't give the Giants a shortfield to work with via a turnover and if we can get 100 yards rushing...

Re: Skins/Giants Matchup

I agree that the stats don't mean much. The Giants need to win this game badly or else people will start jumping over the side. They had a bye and they will come to play.

We need to play with the same chip on our shoulder we had last week. Having said that, their secondary is attrocious. If we can neutralize Strahan and the rest of their front by comitting to a physical running game, Brunell should have easy pickings when he drops back. The key is to give him a little time. The offensive line is the group most affected by the opposing crowd, so the Dirtbags need to play their best game of the year.

Defensively, we need to stuff Tiki and the other youngster who has looked good (Jacobs?). Manning will get his, as he did in game two last year, but Tiki is the Giant that can beat you.

Screw the Giants, we need to win this game badly. I for one don't like the idea of being 2-3.

I know it's off topic, but after seing saden1's avatar, I must share. I met Ricky Ervins at the tailgate club before the game this weekend. He was wearing his Superbowl ring. It was awesome.

I also thought is was funny that he stood on his tippy toes when he posed for a picture with me.

Unfortunately, Arrington is so slow if we run a misdirection he'll be right where he needs to be. =(

Re: Skins/Giants Matchup

No misdirection necessary with LaVar, just run straight at him and let someone like Sellers knock his block off.
