The view from Lindy's publication is not positive..........
we are predicted to rank 4th in the division. With the Eagles in 1st, the Gints in 2nd, 3. Cryboys 3rd ![]() I loved this comment about Sean Taylor "LOOKS LIKE A LINEBACKER, RUNS LIKE A DEER, ACTS LIKE A CHILD" But nonetheless when comparing units to the entire league their are some definite POSITIVES: TIGHT ENDS-Although the Redskins are not ranked in the top 10, in the UNDERATED TANDEM: they did give kudos to Cooley and Robert Royal. RUNNINGBACKS: Portis was ranked 5th (1. Holmes, 2. Tomlinson, 3. Lewis, 4. Dillion) Portis and Lewis are the only RBs to average 100 or more yards per game over the past 3 years. OFFENSIVE LINE- REDSKINS RANKED 3rd-The addition of Rabach and return of Jansen wll equate into heightened play. (1. Chefs, 2. Colts, 3. Skins, 4. Dallas, 5. Steelers). GUARDS- None other than our own Randy Thomas was ranked #2, topped only by Will Shields of the Chefs. CENTERS- BEST ADDITION-Casey Rabach DEFENSIVE TACKLES- Cornelius Griffin was ranked 6th (1. Jenkins-Carolina, 2. Stroud Jags,3. Rogers Detroit, 4. Williams Vikings, 5. Hampton Steelers). OUTSIDE LINEBACKERS- Lavar Arrington ranked 5th (interesting considering he didnt play much) and Marcus Washington ranked 9th INSIDE LINEBACKERS- None in the top 10, but Lemar Marshall got it kudos for breakout season in the NFC for LBs. OVERALL FOR LINEBACKERS THE REDSKINS RANKED #4 (1. Denver, 2. Buffalo, 3. San Diego) SAFETIES- Sean Taylor was ranked 9th PUNTERS-Tom Tupa ranked 3rd (1. Lechler Raiders, 2. Berger Saints)

Re: Another View
The prediction of the rankings as far as the division goes are completely off key. I mean we are way more talented than the giants who we drugged in one the last games of the season. The cowboys may have improved but the talent that they brought in are very old adn probably want make a difference except for rivera at og he is a beast. I think that portis should be ranked higher than he was because he did not have the opportunity to run behind the best o-line in football(chiefs) like holmes. give him that line he would easily top the 2,000 mark. I think that sean tayloy should be ranked higher than 9th but i would like to see that list.

Overall--they said about the same things as the other reviewers did. The final analysis was The Redskins don't look that good on paper, but character could allow them to meet their potential for the first time in a long time.....but still picked us to finish 4th in the division..... QB-Ramsey will absorb blows on more than one front-with Campbell looking over his shoulder, and Ramsey's tendency to take too many sacks. RB-Portis didn't meet expectations because he is more suited to Denver's "stretch" plays, and had trouble barrelling straight ahead with slow developing gaps. Portis didnt fare well in short yardage situations. Betts is better suited for Gibbs scheme. WR-Moss lacks size, injured quite a bit, and hasnt produced consistently. Moss and Patten have great speed. Jacobs physically gifted. Thrash earned raves from the Coaches last season. Big things are expected of Cooley a tough kid with 37 catches and six TDs as a rookie. OL-Jansen should galvenize a unit with substantial individual talents. Rabach, Samuels, Thomas, all are considered among the best at their positions. Dockery is developing slowly. Ray Brown reliable backup. DL-the line performed surprisingly well thanks largely to Griffin and low key but substantial Wynn. Warner and Evans contributed 9 sacks and solid work on runs. Noble and Salave executed their grunt jobs to near perfection. LBs-this group performed well without Arrington. Leading the way was Washington who went to his first pro-bowl. He did a solid job rushing the passer, shedding blocks and covering tight ends. SECONDARY-Springs played at pro-bowl level and now provides a crucial anchor as Williams develops Carlos Rogers. Expected to start alongside Springs is Walt Harris. Bowen should start alongside Taylor. Special Teams-Hall battled a series of muscle pulls. Punter Tom Tupa had one of his best seasons ranking 3rd in the NFL. Thrash and Betts could handle kickoffs while speedy y9ungster Antonio Brown averaged a tgeam high 8.9 yds on punt returns last season.

1. Ed Reed Ravens 2. Harrison Pats 3. Dawkins Philly 4. Williams Dallas 5. Brown Bears 6. Miloy Buffalo 7. Wilson Pats 8. Taylor Redskins 9. Darius Jags 10. Lewis Philly I too was puzzled by the Giants high rankings too........Manning is unproven, and look at his backups-our ex-3rd string QB Hasselbeck, oft injured Miller, and pretty boy Palmer. They should be ranked the same as the Redskins at QB Tiki had a great season, but prone to fumble, and he will need backups to come in due to his age, and you have rookies backing him up....Jansen used to eat Strahan alive. There OL line isn't that good. Are they really that terrific on special teams?????????
