New drinking game for Giants fans!!!
Giants fans should rewatch the entire game and drink everytime someone says Wellington Mara. And whenever a sign or image is shown chug.
No disrespect but I've never heard a name or mention of anyone's name more during a broadcast. Not Elway, Lombardi, Favre, President Bush, Pat Tilman, Walter Peyton or anyone, not even God. I intend no disrespect to the man, his family, friends, etc. but it was simply ridiculous. I guess there wasn't much to talk about at 36-0, but come the F on. So tired of the monkeys doing our games and if they're the best we're all doomed. Next week when we have the ESPN crew I'll be at the game. Hopefully it'll be a great game and I'll be able to watch the dvr and enjoy atleast some of the commentary... ![]()

Re: New drinking game for Giants fans!!!
Absolutely agreed. He was a great man, no doubt about that & I feel for his family/freinds. However, I do not need that fact incessantly crammed down my throat at the fade-in/out of every commercial break & timeout.

Actually, drinking at every Giants score and Redskin turnover would be enough to get people drunk.

I know we're pissed about the loss, but honestly would you have minded as much if we won??
A man just died, I don't mind giving him some respect even if it's during commercial time.

Re: New drinking game for Giants fans!!!
Obviously had we won the game this would not be one of the top posts on here, but I do feel it was excessive. I thought the way they handled it at the beginning of the game was the definition of class. Mara's granddaughter singing the national anthem was perfect to begin with, and I was so impressed with not only her ability to get through the song given what she has been through, but the girl did an amazing job. One of the best renditions I have ever seen.
A couple more reflections on the man & what he did, & a half-time story would have been the perfect way to remember him. Mentioning it every commercial break as well as over many countless plays, and it begins to become trivial & overkill. Again, there is no question of my respect for the guy & what he did, but let's not turn every game like this into a 3-hour sap-fest. I'm sure there are countless other "super extreme home makeover" shows already providing more than enough of that. Just my thoughts. Let's focus on the task at hand now. Hail.
