Chris Clemons?

I was wondering if anybody has any news on Chris since we cut him? It would be nice to get him back to provide solid depth in our LB corps and to get that third down pass rush.

I was wondering the same thing. After Clemons was cut, Williams made a few less than glowing remarks about him. However, in 2005 he seemed to make an awful lot of plays, especially when you consider that he saw limited action.

Geez...I don't remember that. What did he say? We sure do love to burn bridges around here.

That is how I remember it too. But at least he could rush the passer a little bit.

Re: Chris Clemons?

Bad enough for the Skins to go out and get retreads to be starters on defense and now you want them to go and get another retread to be a backup?

The fact that Clemons hasn't surfaced on any of the other 31 teams as a player of note ought to tell you something.

Retreads are often backups. Moreover, Clemons wasn't picked up by anyone because he had what amounted to a season ending injury. I would be surprised if he didn't re-surface. He's not a starter, but he's an adequate backup. He wasn't particularly good in coverage or the run, but he had a knack for rushing the passer.

Re: Chris Clemons?

I say get his ass in here and see if he's in shape. It's not like we have a stable of pass rushers sitting on the bench. Wasn't our defense dead last in sacks? If I were Danny Boi while your picking up Nate C. have Redskins One go get Chris Clemons as well. If we can bring in 235lb DE's from the CFL than bring back Clemons.
