Takeaway/Giveaway ratio
Remember at one point this year we were something like -11?
We ended up being +1 for the season, I was amazed when I saw that considering how deep in the hole we started off in. |

Re: Takeaway/Giveaway ratio
And how we ended up winning 5 games in a row shows you how important that turnover ratio really is.

Re: Takeaway/Giveaway ratio
Matty, The Skins turnovers did end up coming in bunches at the end of the year. I just hope they come in bunches for the next several weeks!

Re: Takeaway/Giveaway ratio
I had no idea we'd closed that gap. That's unbelievable.
We were -13 after week 11 (the Oakland game). We ended at +1, making up the difference in six games.

Re: Takeaway/Giveaway ratio
That's the impact of a healthy defensive line with Salave'a and Griffin. Those DTs attract a lot more attention, and Daniels has had an easier run to the QB because of it. Wynn has also stepped up his play. We're getting to the QB with 4 guys, keeping more LBs back in coverage. No wonder we're coming down with those tipped balls at the line of scrimmage, and intercepting the hurried throws by the QBs. There are actually LBs sitting in some zones now.
Good job Gregg Williams. |

Re: Takeaway/Giveaway ratio
D Line needs to come up big again against the mediocre Tampa O-Line!

Re: Takeaway/Giveaway ratio
That was one of my biggest concerns a few weeks ago. Like Schneed said, it's great to get the QB with 4-guys! It's 8 million well spent

Re: Takeaway/Giveaway ratio
+14 in six games. Wish we'd done that all year. We'd have been +37. That'd been nice. Maybe 14-2?

Re: Takeaway/Giveaway ratio
Been discussing this on the Skins newsgroup. Fumbles tend to balance out as they are more of a random factor (how the ball bounces as it were).
INT's on the other hand are a product of good coverage and QB pressure. That has made a difference in the last few weeks, although the fumbles bouncing our way may also have an emotional/awareness element to them. |

Re: Takeaway/Giveaway ratio
I really felt and have seen other people her note it here as well as some experts saying they simply weren't able to swarm as much because of a weaker secondary and some inexperience in the LBs. When those things traightened out and our line started getting healthy the swarming commenced. Go back and compare if you have a chance and I think you'll agree.
