Dr. Z explains why Skins will go 4-12 (sort of)

Here's his half-assed explanation:

http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/200...s.explanation/

4. REDSKINS (4-12)

I know this is a vicious prediction, and since Washington has some of the most dedicated e-mailers in the land, I expect to hear from an army of them next week, just as I did last year when I picked the Skins ... what ... 5-11 or something like that? Gregg Williams' defense shouldn't let this happen, but it was good last year, too, and so what? I think the Patrick Ramsey-Mark Brunell-Jason Campbell merry-go-round is a bad situation and the sign of a deeper problem -- namely that this team doesn't quite know what it's doing.

What F*****g Merry-Go-Round? Where has Coach Gibbs said he'll play the best man available a la Stevie Spurious?

Dr. Z, please get a real job.

I think Dr. Z is getting a bit too old to be writing about sports. Actually, I think he is getting too old to be writing, period.

He is just too old.

How is the Ramsey, Brunell & Campbell a merry go round. Last year Mark had the starting job and lost it to Ramsey. Ramsey came in and the jod has been his from there on out. Campbell only has two ways of seeing the field this year. 1-Ramsey and Brunell get hurt, and with the way our line is prodecting I don't see that happening. 2 Ramsey is playing just good enough and stays in for the first half of the year and then Gibbs sees that Ramsey is not our answer. Then the ball will go to Campbell to get him an early start for next year. I do not see Brunell getting to start in the second half of the year unless we are in realy good shape to make the play offs. I realy think its funny how a writer can write off Gibbs after one season.

Re: Dr. Z explains why Skins will go 4-12 (sort of)

The problem with Dr. Z assessment in looking at the Skins' schedule is that he is assuming that because the Skins only won one game in their division last year, they will probably do no better than that this year. So let's look at the schedule..... They SHOULD beat the Bears, and the 49ers, because they are both at Home. They COULD beat the Bucs, the Raiders, and the Giants all on the road. They also could split with everyone in the division, the Boys, Eagles and Giants at home. That is 8 real possibilities based on their performance last year. I know some might question my win over the Eagles, but the Skins lost to them by 3 points at home last year, and I have to think that the Skins have improved more than the Eagles have improved this year. Enough to overcome those 3 points and Ramsey's INT late in the game. I would be thrilled with an 8-8 Skins team this year, and think it is more possible than Dr. Z gives them credit for.

I don't like his assessment, but Dr Z knows a lot about football. No need to trash him becasue he doesn't think the skins are any good. Hopefully, he is wrong. Everyone is entitled to thier opinion. The only writer who gets to me is Lenny P, because it really does appear clear that he has an axe to grind in every article...

After reading the foundation for his theory, I'm reminded of the opening paragraph of the Desiderata ..

"Go placidly amid the noise and haste, and remember what peace there may be in silence, as far as possible without surrender be on good terms with all persons. Speak your truth quietly and clearly, and listen to others, even the dull and ignorant; they too have their story."

Talking about his ass is bothersome and bothering to write him is even more bothersome. Why bother?

Dr. Z! Now playing at the local Comedy Club! 500 locations nationwide, 1,000 near you! If you call now, keep calling!

The entire article says Dr. Z is in serious need of psychological therapy. Talks to himself way to much, replies to himself, then takes his own thoughts too seriously!

I don't get how Dr. Z thinks we'll actually be worse this year, but whatever. He isn't nearly the tool this guy below is, whoever he is.

"Washington Redskins (5-11) – Team in personnel flux, QBs Ramsey and Brunell sub-par, bad defense."

bad defense???

Now that one is an outrage...calling the redskins defense bad just proves you are not even paying attention. Whoever wrote that should be flipping burgers at McDonalds for a living...

GOD this article of Dr. Z is really affecting you, it's really funny 2 week ago when the NFC East prediction post was in this site all of you put the Redskins no worse that a 9-7 record some of you said. they (the Skins) will win the division.

Now 2 weeks later Dr. Z says your team will go 4-12 and you start saying "well I know we ain't that good but, we ain't that bad". Some say that a 6-10 prediction was more accurate and the most opptimistic of you said 8-8 COULD be reached if all things fall into the pieces.

Come on what happen in the last 2 week you finally accepted your team it ain't that good I agree it ain't that bad a gave them a 8-8 prediction myself putting the little giants at the bottom of the conference, but after some reporters across the league star bashing your team and saying they ain't good you bow your head and say we aint really good but we also ain't that bad.......

It's good that you're finally seeing things more clearly, its sad that it took this for you to aproach this in a more realistic way. Now I don't agree with Dr.Z with the 4-12 prediction that's to low, you have a good RB good OL and good D that will at least win you 6 games and 2 maybe 3 more. I think an 8-8 its more realistic and it could go to 9-7 or 7-9.

ah yes, we have a bad defense, no quarterback, no running back, no offense, bad management, and one of the worst coaches in pro football. that guy is completely accurate.

What are you talking about? I literally cannot understand half of your post.
