Antonio Pierce
Just finished reading the WT article on Pierce being a "reluctant" NY Giant. I have to wonder why in this day and age it is acceptable for players and agents to ask for the moon in contract negotiations but when teams do the same thing, by low-balling, they get villified by the players. Pierce called the first contract offer an "embarassment". Shouldn't the last contract offer be the one you base your opinion on? Not the last. I thought it was somewhat reasonable that the Skins didn't want to blow right past Washington's deal yet the article mentions that Pierce didn't want to go. That is not true. He didn't want to go just as long as the Skins offered him the most money. That is not nearly the same thing. What a crock. I like Pierce and he is actually one of the good guys but that is what's scary. When a guy like Pierce, who left for money basically, is one of the good guys what the hell is wrong with the rest of the guys?
