ASHBURN, Va.

First-round draft pick Jason Campbell agreed to a contract with the Washington Redskins late Monday, ending a one-day holdout.

The No. 25 overall selection from Auburn will sign a five-year deal Tuesday and report for the afternoon practice, according to agent Joel Segal. The Redskins opened training camp Monday.

Campbell is expected to be the No. 3 quarterback behind starter Patrick Ramsey and Mark Brunell. His selection was somewhat of a surprise because coach Joe Gibbs had already anointed Ramsey, who is in his fourth year in the league, as the starter.

Campbell wasn't considered a top-round prospect until he led Auburn to an undefeated record his senior year. He completed 70 percent of his passes for 2,700 yards with 20 touchdowns and seven interceptions in the Crimson Tide's 13-0 season.

Campbell's signing leaves Auburn cornerback Carlos Rogers, the No. 9 overall pick, as the Redskins' lone holdout.
