Some of these veteran cuts will get work this season. Anyone on the 53 man roster at the end of week 1 of the regular season has their salary guaranteed for the whole season.

I could see Stallworth, Chad Johnson and Vince Young getting signed, but only after week 1 is in the books and their season salary is not guaranteed. It will take an injury for their phone to ring. But that way teams avoid being on the hook for the whole seasons salary.
