Arrington Hoping To Resolve Matters; Nehemiah Broughton signed

http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn...071801194.htmlLinebacker LaVar Arrington hopes to meet with Washington Redskins officials before training camp to "restore" his relationship with the organization and resolve a lingering grievance over a $6.5 million bonus payment, according to his attorney, Steve Brown . Brown said he is optimistic that he, Arrington, NFL Players Association Executive Director Gene Upshaw and owner Dan Snyder will meet in the next two weeks, at which time Brown expects the grievance to be resolved.

Arrington's grievance was to have gone before an arbitrator yesterday, but he opted out of that process last week in favor of a meeting, which Brown said will facilitate rebuilding Arrington's bond with the franchise after he clashed with the club over their handling of his injuries and contract grievance.

"As a pallbearer of Dan Snyder's father, as a person who accommodated the team twice in restructuring his contract to help the salary cap, as a person who gives back to the community and as a person who cares very much about Redskins fans and a person now reaching out to the team to restore their relationship," Brown said of Arrington, "this cries out for us to get together and resolve this."
Meantime, the Redskins agreed to terms with fullback Nehemiah Broughton , their seventh-round pick, on a three-year deal worth approximately $970,000 with a $42,000 signing bonus, league sources said. Wide receiver Damien Harrell , a star in the Arena Football League, is expected to be given a pre-training camp tryout.
