what you need to do is file a petition with directv saying that you are not able to receive local channels. if you do and its accepted, you wont miss anymore games because of blackouts.

i've actually had to do this. i live between two mountains so i dont get an antenna signal.

there are actual fcc requirements that must be followed. so you might need to bring someone to your place to test the signal strenght.
