I think they went with Rex/Beck because he had no other option and it was a better fit (cost wise) than ponying up a bunch of money to a 36 year old vet (hasslebeck). One thing we do know, he obviously didn't like Gabbert that much, but probably would have drafted Locker.

There again. You can say that all day long, but you don't know for 100% certain when it comes to the draft. You can guess or speculate, but you don't know. Now do I believe he'll be a top 5 selection? Of course I do, but I'm not foolish to sit here and say with 100% certainty.
