re: Own a Piece of Paper Implying Stock That Has No True Value Yet Ceremoniously Says You Own a Piece of the Packers. Or Don't. What Do I Care.

Green Bay is ripping people off.

Its a scam to call these things "Common Stock". I dont know what they are but you cant sell them and i dont think you can ever redeem them. The only thing you get is a "vote", but who knows to what extent. Plus does anyone do anything but trash their proxies when they get them in the mail?

The fact that you have to search the site to find out how much they cost makes this even worse. It costs $250, fyi. They set their site up so that some people will enter in all their information prior to even finding out how much these things cost is ridiculous.

If you want to look cool by framing a stock you can use this service:

Buy One Real Share of Stock. Gifts of Disney Stock and More!

At least you actually have a real stock thats worth somthing and can be sold.

Quote:

COMMON STOCK DOES NOT CONSTITUTE AN INVESTMENT IN “STOCK” IN THE COMMON SENSE OF THE TERM.
PURCHASERS SHOULD NOT PURCHASE COMMON STOCK WITH THE PURPOSE OF MAKING A PROFIT.

Q If I purchase shares of Common Stock, will I be able to resell or transfer the shares to other people?
A No. You cannot sell, assign or otherwise transfer shares of Common Stock to a third party, except that you may transfer shares to an “immediate family” member by gift or in the event of death. “Immediate family” is defined as the spouse, children, mother, father, brothers, sisters, or any lineal descendent of a shareholder.
