I just stumbled across something fun for franchise mode. In week 5, before the trade deadline, you can trade STRAIGHT UP your draft picks for the picks of the worst team in the league.
So if you trade with a team that is 0-5, you will probably get a top 5 pick, no matter who well you did.
As you can imagine, drafting in the top 5 of each round will make your franchise kick ass.
