Thats what i say. Good for him, he should be spending his money on lavish things just like rich people are supposed to do. And hopefully this shows that hes going to continue to be less involved in operations. Plus Id would be worried if I saw him on the Potomac in a old pos catamaran.
But unfortunately I am unable to mention Dan without hating on him a little bit so…… I disagree with you when you say he has helped increase the value of the franchise since he bought it. A quick google search shows the average value of a NFL franchise in 2004 (as far back as I could quickly find) was 630 million while the Redskins were worth 1,034 million. The average NFL franchise value today is 952 while the Redskins are worth 1,560. So the Redskins franchise’s value has increased by 50.8% vs 51.2% for the rest of the league, which is right on par. The Redskins also used to be the most valuable franchise until a few years ago, they have now been surpassed by the Cowboys who’s value has increased 117% over the same period. Rounding out the top 5 most valuable NFL franchises and their increases, NE @ 85%; NYG @ 127% and NYJ @ 116%.
Its good that we have a owner willing to spend money unlike Tampa or Cincy, but I think the new CBA will pretty much make that a moot point going forward. I hope Dan keeps having fun with his money like he should. In the meantime the thing I like about him the most is hating on him, I just cant help it…..
