Let me ask a simple question here about the good but not "special" [whatever that means] Joe Flacco:

If he magically were transferred to the Washington Redskins for the 2011 season, could he make the Skins' roster - - even if he would not know Kyle Shanahan's offense that is more complicated than String Theory?
Now an observation:

Flacco just took some heat for going to the playoffs 3 years in a row and winning a game in those three playoffs on the basis that it was the Ravens' defense that carried him. There is a germ of truth in there; the Ravens' defense is REALLY good...

HOW-EVAH, there are more than a few folks here who seem to think the fact that Rex Grossman was the QB for the Bears' Super Bowl team proves that he is a bona fide starting QB of above average capability. The Bears' defense that year was also REALLY good...

I suspect that Flacco would get a lot more respect here if the color of his uniform were different...
