You have the sequence wrong here...
Albert Haynesworth was a lazy - - and anti-social - - toad who took plays off while he was at the Univ of Tennessee and when he played for the Tennessee Titans. Then he had a great year in his "contract year".
The Redskins "brain trust" ignored his career-long history of being a lazy, anti-social toad and loooked only at his "contract year performance". Then they handed him a monster contract somehow thinking that having all that money would change his natural behavior. Two words here: Not - - - Happening...
Then after a lackluster first year here, the Redskins new "brain trust" handed him a check for $21M after he gave them "Scout's Honor" that he would do what the coaches told him to do. Two words here: Not - - - Happening...
Haynesworth was a toad before the Skins signed him; the Skins made him an uber-rich toad; now, he is behaving like a toad in New England. He is consistent in his "toad-ness". The Redskins took two years and about $30M to figure it out.
