Remember how it felt when this team was making big time moves in the offseason, but never the draft? Remember the excitement we all felt when we traded for and/or signed guys like McNabb, Haynesworth, Archuleta, Randle El, Brandon Lloyd, Jeff George, Primetime, Bruce Smith, Mark Carrier, etc.? At the time, we all thought we were getting players who would be playing at the pinnacle of their positions for a long time. Instead, we got players who never performed or lived up to any expectations.

Over a decade we proved that you can't win consistently by signing big name free agents to big money deals and expecting them to repeat their success here.

Yeah I know, Nnamdi is different. He's a humble yet talented leader who lets his play do all the talking, and I mean all the talking. He's so humble he's willing to take less money if it means he will get one step closer to winning a Super Bowl. The anti-Haynesworth, it seems. It doesn't matter. This team isn't one shutdown corner away from winning a Super Bowl, and it won't be for quite some time. We have too many holes to fill, and there's no way he'd ever give us the "contender discount."

The Eagles made the right move, and we made the right move as well. All I'm saying is don't think the season is over before it's ever begun. If all these no name guys like John Beck never got a chance to prove themselves, NFL history would be missing a lot of great names, like Kurt Warner, Rod Smith (who was Shanny's discovery), etc. Just give him a chance.

Great post.
