Throwing the ball away isn't always a bad thing. I don't think he threw the ball away a lot in those games; in the Giants game his passes were batted back at him a lot which may kind cloud things a bit.
I also remember him on bootlegs and stuff like that at least trying to run and gain a couple yards.
But one of the problems with McNabb was that, instead of just throwing the ball away, he
always tried to make the play. I think he took some sacks he did have to because instead of just chucking the ball out of bounds and living to play another down, he tried pulling the ball down and escaping, which got him sacked.
A lot.
I'd rather my quarterback throw the ball away on 2nd and 10 and end up in 3rd and 10 then have him try to make a play and end up 3rd and 20.
