I obviously only know so much about super heroes but when I look at Green Lantern I still see a guy with a ring. The Super Hero movies that do win big at the box office are the ones that are able to strike a certain balance between fantasy and reality. Thats why I feel X-Men, Batman, Spiderman, and Ironman have all done so well.
On the other hand I feel like the two big Super Hero movies being released this summer (Thor and Green Lantern) delve way to far onto the fantasy end of the spectrum and get away from that balance i was talking about.
