I lobbied to pick him up, but would he have fixed all our problems? no.
I will say this for those OL, OL, OL fans out there.... if there was a OL worth his weight in gold or could come in and help this team don't you think Shanahan would be bringing them in? He brought in WR's, CB's, and DE's. Notta one OL. That screams volumes. There's also the issue of even if they hired a new OL he would have to sit on the practice squad till he learned the blocking scheme, but if he can't go on the PS then he's taking up a roster spot sitting on the bench till he learns where to block when. He wouldn't be seeing the field until Shanahan was satisfied he knew his assignment.
So even though the player might be better then Hicks, Heyer, and Lickenstien (?) he would be of no use or help sitting on the bench. So can we keep the OL, OL, OL chants to a minimum since we are not likely to see a new one until the offseason. I think the rest of us were just thinking if you can't upgrade one position it doesn't mean you can't upgrade other positions of need.
