Re: (Vent thread) I'm sorry, but the notion, that the Redskins have "no" receivers is just stupid!
The offense and passing game were imo out of sync Sunday night, both from an execution and gameplanning standpoint.
I though the instances of confusion and resulting wasted time outs were evidence of this.
But, that's gonna happen with so much 'newness' on the offense.
So although the passing game didn't look sharp they will get better.
Also, we played a very good defense last night, it reminds me of the start the Texans offense had against the Jets last year.
Galloway was only targeted once and he was open on a deep comeback route but McNabb was getting pressured, (it would be a tough throw to make for any QB).
Galloway could have been open all day for all we know.
Armstrong had imo a bad game he was targeted 5 times (2 in the RZ) and had 1 catch.
I recall McNabb(under duress i think) threw a bounce pass on crossing route where Armstrong was open.
And Armstrong had a chance on 2 well thrown stutter fade routes.
I think the coaching staff showed they had faith in him by targeting him 5 times and don't think they would or should give up on him after 1 game.
Roydell was targeted once on 3rd down late in the game and was open but McNabb (under duress) missed him with another bounce pass.
Devin Thomas was an BEAST on Kick Return and i value his contributions there as more valueable then trying him out on offense when we already know that the coaching staff don't consider him as one of the top 4 WR options on this team.
I wouldn't mind seeing him on specfic designed plays just for him-like that screen to Moss, I would love to see wild child catch a couple screens and run a couple of 9 routes.
But start opposite Moss nah i'll pass.
I want to see more Fred Davis though.
Not 1 target for him the whole game and very few double TEs passing sets.
