If I pay $15 for an album, I want something more than a file.

While being technologically-advanced and up-to-date in most parts of my life, I'm old-fashioned I guess in other ways. That's one of them. Also, I hope I never see books replaced by e-books in my lifetime...and I believe there are enough people like me to keep the publishing industry afloat. I prefer old razors to new ones. I like building furniture whenever I can. I carry a pocket watch instead of looking for the time on a cellphone. When I'm able to, I want to get an old muscle car to restore.

There is something enriching about holding onto some traditions, it keeps your life from being a bore from having everything electronic and existing only on your hard drive. In today's busy world, sometimes it is nice and beneficial to slow down. Newer doesn't always mean better to me.
It's all about what works for you. I like gadgets and the latest new toys. Books and CDs to me are just clutter. Back when I had CDs I had this huge rack that took up nearly an entire wall in my room, now I just have my music on my computer, backed up to an external hard drive, and of course on the iPod itself. I also find myself reading a lot more since I got the iPad. I've got 3 books going at once right now. Newer doesn't equal better, just easier for certain things. Less things to lug around, no fumbling around in the car for a CD, etc. Again, it's just about what works for you.
