And it's even more unfortunate that what might be the only thing going through Dan Snyder's mind is what free agent he will overpay (Michael Vick? We will need a new quarterback) to be the savior from free agency next season. He might be making a list about what to do to spin the franchise in a positive light next offseason.
I wish he'd be making a list that consists of examining the model franchises of the last decade and following their lead. Aka, hire GM/competent head of football operations, and let them build an organization that will be successfull for sustained periods of time.

Philly and New England - those would be the models that I would follow. Build depth through the draft and add FA's to fill the holes. It all starts with the draft - stockpile picks and make them count. That goes against everything Snyder has done for the past decade, and sadly, even Gibbs bought into the build through FA and trade away draft picks philosophy.
