I hate to be on an island to disagree, but...

Renaldo Wynn is "OK"... but Renaldo Wynn doesn't make an "OK" players money. He is one of the most overpaid players in the league right now if you ask me... at the very least, he is one of our top 3-4 most overpaid Redskins (see Brunell, Samuels). look at his numbers

* In 8 NFL seasons, he has 21 sacks with a career high of 5 in 2001.

* His 3 seasons with the 'Skins .. 2.5 sacks, 2 sacks, 3 sacks.
41 tackles, 29 tackles, 37 tackles

* He is slightly above average against the run, but this is only because he CANNOT drive past a tackle to get penetration... which leaves him near a running lane on most plays.

here's the kicker... it makes SOOOO much sense financially to cut him.

His salary...

he was the 2nd highest paid Redskin in 2004 at age 30! ($2 MIL)
he will be the 2nd highest paid Redskin in 2005 at age 31! ($3.5 MIL)
he will be the 2nd highest paid Redskin in 2006 at age 32! ($3.5 MIL)
he will be the 5th highest paid Redskin in 2007 at age 33! ($4 MIL)

His Bonus Money Cap Hits are only $583,000 in 2005, 2006, 2007

sooooo the way I figure (my math might not be very good but) his bonus money would be accelerated and hit this year's cap at a total of $1.75 MIL... and his salary we would be saved from paying is $3.5 MIL, leaving us with, yep, $1.75 MIL in cap sapce!!!
That's a GOOD amount of space opened up... enough money to help sign a Reggie Heyward who is 5 years younger and had 10.5 sacks last year (that is exactly HALF the number Wynn has in his entire career!!!).

Sorry guys, but I just have never been a fan of Renaldo Wynn ever since I started watching our cap space!! :P
