It's Snyder's favoritism and pettiness that I think muddle the pie. If I'm the new coach, I would say - "Mr. Snyder, if I find my guys hanging out with you, calling you, or in any way interacting with you in a way I have not approved, I will cut them. Then you can pal around with them all you like. I don't care if its the QB you personally recruited during the FA signing period. Consider it a 'non-fraternization policy'. You want to speak to the team on occasion - hey fine as long as it is to the ENTIRE team and not just one or two guys."

Obviously, Snyder would never go for that.

The new coach would be fired.
