I understand what you're saying but Smith isn't the one dropping TD passes and getting penalties. I'm not crazy about the running game either and adjustments need to be made but if the players don't execute the plays it doesn't matter what you call. Missed blocks, false starts etc. are a direct product of poor execution. The observation that Lewis made after watching film was that there were too many mistakes being made
by the players that continuously
bog down the offense.
