I suspect that what may happen is the Redskins expect that Sherman Lewis will have a positive short-term impact.

But then I suspect that at the end of the season (or maybe before hand), Snyder and Cerrato will go to Zorn and say "Look, you've seen the impact Lewis has had and it's apparent you have too much on your plate as head coach, playcaller, and QB coach. And the support team you have here just isn't helping you out. So... you need to fire Chris Meidt and Sherman Smith (probably not Stump Mitchell."

Then, Zorn will probably (and I suspect this is what the front office expects) think well shoot those are my two top lieutenants, those are my guys, without them most of this staff isn't even mine and he'll reply with "No, I'm standing by these guys. If you don't want them around then I quit."

And the Redskins will then say "We gave him every opportunity but we appreciate his decision to move forward. We wish him continued success."

or something along those lines
