The cowpokes were built on pr & marketing, they marketed themselves as the 'alternative' to the traditional nfl teams, like ours. That's one of the reasons they have fans all over the country who can't find Dallas on a map designed for grade school kids.
The irony of that history is that now we have an owner who was able to buy the team w/his fortune he made as a pr/marketing entrepreneur.
