I think the SD GM knows the gradual decline of RB's after they get a certain age (30) or carries. LT has played alot and does have some good years left in him but they most likely see this as trading high rather than low. They can get good value for him i would guess. I really can't argue w/ that logic. If they can get a first rounder for LT, would you take it. He's been nursing injuries for 2 years.
Let's look in the mirror here. We all love CP, but he's an "old" 26 (i think 26 years old). The question has got to be raised.
Look at the Eagles. They go to the extreme. If you're older than 30 they generally don't need you. You're done, cut, traded.
I wouldn't go that far but i do believe this is a young man's game now. Vet's are good but too many of them and you've got a problem.
